All parade units must select one person to be the Parade Team Leader. This “Responsible Person” will be the contact person for your parade unit before and during the parade. Their primary job is to be the point of contact and make sure that ALL participants get ALL the information prior to December 1st. They are also responsible for making sure that your unit does not travel too quickly, too slowly or stop along the route. Large gaps are the chief complaint of spectators.

A. For Commercial Floats, Pre Decorated floats are rented from a professional float company. Included in the cost are a driver and a banner with your business name hung from the float. With a Half float both businesses have a banner hung from the float. You only need to provide riders! The number of floats is limited and choice of floats is first come, first serve.

B. For All Other Groups, Your business or group provides one vehicle to ride in the parade. The vehicle must be decorated for the holiday season. You may hang a banner from your vehicle or float. As many riders that will safely fit in the vehicle are welcome to join. You may also have walkers walk along the side or behind the vehicle if you wish. Prior approval is needed for more than one vehicle due to space limitations in the staging area.

NO SANTAS – he only rides on his sleigh at the end of the parade!

You will receive a confirmation email after we receive your application confirming receipt. If you do not receive this confirmation email, please contact (919) 579-6052 and we will send another one promptly. This is to verify your email address for final instructions a week prior to the parade to share with your entire group.

To insure the safety of all spectators NO items may be thrown or tossed from any floats, vehicles or parade entries. Candy is absolutely prohibited from being thrown in the parade by any parade unit per order of the Apex Police Department. Failure to follow this rule will result in you not being allowed to return to the parade. Items other than candy, such as literature or coupons must be approved by the Apex Police Department and Apex Rotary Club prior to the parade.

Waiver of Liability
The Entrant / Responsible Party does hereby waive, release and discharge the Apex Rotary Club and the Town of Apex, its agents, employees and volunteers for all liability related to our participation in the Apex Christmas Parade, including but not limited to damages, loss or injury to myself, any participant in my parade entry, or to our property which may be sustained as a result of our participation in the Apex Christmas Parade. I further permit the use of event photography for media/Rotary promotion.
